Equality In Prostate Cancer Programme 2025

Applications close Sunday 27 July 2025, 11:59pm. This is a Leadership Programme focused on addressing inequality and inequity in prostate cancer care by equipping healthcare professionals with the leadership skills needed to drive improvement. 

Our programme is open to clinicians and professionals with the expertise and ambition to improve equality and equity in care. We particularly encourage applications from professionals based in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Our wider aim: 

Our programme empowers professionals to lead the implementation of an improvement project. Your project may focus on one or more of the following areas (note that this list is not exhaustive):

  • Equal access to timely detection and treatment
  • Culturally aware, tailored care plans
  • Inclusive information on risks and symptoms
  • Raising understanding in all communities
  • Accessible psychological and peer support
  • Reducing healthcare disparities
  • Inclusive training for healthcare providers

 

This programme will focus on developing transformational leaders through:

  • Leadership and improvement theory
  • Opportunities to put theory and new skills into practice 
  • Peer support and learning
  • Individual and group coaching
  • Hearing from and networking with inspiring leaders who have driven change in this field
  • Support to develop an improvement plan
  • Ongoing support from Prostate Cancer UK through our alumni network

 

Please note, there are limited places available on this programme and applications will be reviewed upon receipt. We reserve the right to close recruitment once we have received enough applications that meet the required standard. 

 

Programme details:

All virtual sessions will be hosted on Microsoft Teams. 

  • Welcome session (virtual) -Tuesday 23 September 2025: 7 - 9pm 
  • Module 1 (virtual) -Thursday 2 October 2025: 9am - 12noon
  • Module 2 and Module 3 (residential) - Tuesday 4 November 10am – Wednesday 5 November 3pm (event to be held in Manchester). 
  • Module 4 (virtual) - Tuesday 20 January: 9am – 12pm.

During the programme, we’ll:

  • Explore the barriers to change in healthcare 
  • Understand how to navigate and deliver change in a complex environment
  • Develop your personal impact and influence
  • Understand how to overcome barriers to change
  • Build your resilience as an improvement leader
  • Network and share best practice with peers
  • Provide valuable insights from our health inequalities experts on tackling barriers to healthcare access, while exploring key themes and real-world challenges that shape health inequality.
  • Receive coaching from our Insights Practitioners
